RA President’s decision to accept the invitation of Turkish President to visit Bursa was correct and fully corresponding to regional policy logic of Yerevan, Naira Zohrabyan, MP of “Prosperous Party” and Chairwoman of the Standing Committee on European Integration told NEWS.am.

According to her, the dialogue with Turkey and the peace-and-stability policy establishment in the region was initiated by Armenia. In this respect Sargsyan’s visit to Turkey is entirely justified, which should not be linked to Armenia-Turkey relations. Pointing out that the President’s attendance of the match will be of significant support to the Armenian team, Zohrabyan stated: “Being Armenian, I certainly wish our team to win, however, considering the athletic performance of our football players, I do not have special expectations from the game.”

The Turkey-Armenia qualifying match will be held tomorrow, October 14 in Bursa, to be most likely attended by RA President Serzh Sargsyan. Turkey-Armenia youth national teams’ match is scheduled for October 13.
