“I want to shoot my last film on the recognition of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) independence,” Cvetana Paskaleva Bulgarian cameraman and Karabakh war chronicler told NEWS.am in Yerevan on 9 July. “I believe Karabakh independence will be recognized soon, but if an uncompromised recognition takes longer, I am ready to wait and stay in Armenia even as long as needed,” she said.

Paskaleva stated that “though being strong, we missed the opportunity to settle Karabakh conflict in 1994, whereas Azerbaijan was weak and called to stop the war.” She believes at the moment Azerbaijan gets “visible and invisible” support and we are kind of running after. One should forget about all political and party preferences and unite for this national issue settlement," Paskaleva emphasized.

She believes Armenia lacks “centralized propaganda,” whereas “Azerbaijan has always been well organized, though built up on lie they manipulated with.” “The Armenian side always hoped for the world knows – they are right,” she stated indicating that some US senators she spoke to have no idea about Karabakh on the whole and Karabakh conflict particularly. Paskaleva said she just cannot afford transferring the 7 films about Karabkh war on DVD, the films that received various international rewards. At that, Armenian authorities do not even think of using it as means of national propaganda. “For example, each international delegation visiting Armenia can be given one of these films,” Paskaleva offered.

As to OSCE co-chairman Matthew Bryza’s yesterday comment on positive rhetoric in Ilham Aliyev statement on Karabakh issue settlement, Paskaleva said “these are just words.” None of Armenian Presidents signs an agreement contradicting the interests of Armenian and Artsakh people as he will have to resign. As to NEWS.am question whether people like her wishing to show the reality about Karabakh war will come to Armenia, Paskaleva said: “I am certain about it.”
