“Russian-Turkish relations will never have an essential influence on us or affect our relations with any state provided we do not spoil ourselves. Our main enemy was inside ourselves, not in the relations with other countries,” former MP Aghasi Arshakyan told NEWS.am, commenting on Turkey and Russia establishing closer relations. “No Russian, Turk or German can harm us if we do not harm ourselves,” he said.
Without voicing his opinion on the new Turkish-Armenian relations, Arshakyan pointed out they should not make Armenia jealous. “Russians, certainly have their interests and pursue them in their relations with any country. We should pursue our interests. This is our task. If we fail to show ourselves intelligent, we will suffer no matter what Turkish-Russian relations are -good or bad,” Arshakyan said.
