Ankara expects the OSCE Minsk Group and international community to step up their efforts in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, said Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu.

According to him, on the initiatives of Russia and the Russian President, the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents held a number of talks last year, giving a new impetus to the process. He pointed out that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue was on the agenda of RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s latest talks with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to him, Russia and Turkey have common interests in the Caucasus, and the establishment of regional peace is beneficial both to Turkey and to Russia, as well as to the international community, TRT reports.

The Turkish Premier expressed wish that an end be put to frozen conflicts and mutual distrust.

Turkey plans to conduct a “psychological revolution” in the Caucasian region, as in Balkans, he said. With Turkey’s assistance the region will again become stable and prosperous, Davutoglu said as quoted by Haberturk.
