Georgian MPs call for initiating the impeachment process against Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Karlo Kopaliani, representative of the Republican Party and a member of the “Strong Georgia” opposition faction declares, the EU Commission report finding Saakashvili guilty of launching August 2008 war, allows setting in motion the procedure.

According to the MP, the report proves that “the king is nude and those trying to cover him are fig leaves,” Georgia Times reads. Kopaliani calls the President to voluntarily vacate the office.

Under the Georgian law, to have the Supreme and Constitutional Courts to judge, the case should be signed at least by a third of 150 MPs.

As NEWS.am previously informed, EU Commission on determination of the August 2008 war cause came to conclusion, that the military actions were initiated by Georgia. Authorities of Georgia were accused of firing and destruction of nonmilitary facilities, as well as attacks on the peace-support mission servicemen.
