A suicide bombing in the Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan killed nearly 49 people and injured over 30, October 18, Mehr news agency informs.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders were on their way to a meeting with local elders of the Shia and Sunni communities when the terrorists carried out the attack. Many commanders were reported dead. Shortly after the attack, the IRGC issued a statement saying that foreigners were involved in the terrorist operation and the attack was meant to foment strife between Shias and Sunnis, Mehr reads.
