On October 19, 2009 U.S. Governmental delegation headed by the U.S. Deputy Defense Minister for International Security Alexander Vershbow will visit Georgia, GHN news agency reports.

In the course of a two-day visit, meetings with Georgian Governmental officials, as well as the first meeting of the U.S.-Georgian working group on strategic partnership are scheduled. The parties will consider the reforms in defense sector, Georgian armed forces’ involvement in the current operations in Afghanistan under NATO aegis and regional security issues.

According to the Georgian Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov, Georgia-U.S. military partnership will be overarching theme of the meeting.
