Oppositional Armenian National Congress will resume rallies and protest actions whenever necessary, ANC Foreign Relations coordinator Vladimir Karapetyan stated at Oct. 22 press-conference.

According to him, today Armenian National Congress informs people of their stance on various matters through mass media. Karapentyan also commented on statement by “Heritage” faction member Larisa Alaverdyan, that ANC inactivity proceeds from full concurrence of its position on Armenia-Turkey relations with the one of authorities. He reckons that most probably this indicates Alaverdyan’s attempt to “hurt” non-parliamentary opposition or lack of professionalism to notice evident differences, which is unacceptable for a politician.

Meanwhile, today ANC and Heritage parties share same opinion, both demanding RA President’s resignation. As for Ms. Alaverdyan, her viewpoint cannot be considered Heritage Party’s standpoint, as she is a mere member of the party. As for ARF Dashnaktsutyun statement not to claim Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation for not having Levon Ter-Petrosyan in power, the oppositionist noted it is at least disrespect towards the nation’s right to elect the leader. According to him, President’s removal means holding new elections and president will be the one people vote for.
