Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Armenia Gagik Harutiunyan has violated Armenia’s constitutional order. “Under Armenia’s law, a judge cannot go on holiday and engage in politics,” says a statement issued by the Supreme Council deputy club NGO today.
As regards Harutiunyan’s statement that he participated in RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s pan-Armenian tour while on holiday, and as representative of the Hayastan Fund, the NGO states that “the CC Chairman violated the constitutional order by being engaged in political propaganda during a week, including voicing an opinion on the case being considered by the CC, which can serve as a basis for his resignation.”
The NGO also refuted the information that the CC Chairman was not engaged in propaganda.
We would remind you that RA CC Chairman Gagik Harutriunyan was accompanying President Serzh Sargsyan during his pan-Armenian tour on October 1-7.
