The Nagorno-Karabakh peace process is in the most advanced stage, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at the Aquila G8 Summit closing press conference. Medvedev has outlined there are fewer points for the sides to agree on and he considers Karabakh peace process would not take long. “I believe eventually the success can be achieved.”

Russian President stated that his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts “consider and comprehend each other well.” He stressed it is important that the sides be ready to negotiate and Russia, in its turn, is ready to assist OSCE Minsk Group anyhow.

Medvedev emphasizes, he is content with the Summit joint release made by OSCE MG Co-chairing presidents of the US, Russia and France. “We have issued a corresponding statement and call the sides to make further efforts to settle Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.” Russian President hopes he will host presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to continue talks shortly.
