Azerbaijan is a very important state in the Caucasus, and the United States attaches high importance to relations with it. The USA understands Azerbaijan’s concern over the reopening of the Armenian-Turkish border, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Tina Kaidanow stated in her interview with the Azerbaijani AND TV Channel.

According to her, the USA is supporting the process for permanent peace to be established in the region. The United States attaches importance not only to the Armenian-Turkish relations, but also the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Evidence thereof is the appointment of experienced diplomat Bob Bradtke as OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairman.
