EU intends to increase its role in resolution of the regional conflicts, such as Nagorno-Karabakh and Transnistria, said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

Speaking at the 8th Yalta European Strategy Conference, Fule said the Union will assume more significant role while resolving the problems, Interfax reported. However, the EU will not completely change the framework of solution to these problems, he added.

Fule stressed that earlier EU modestly referred to its role in resolution of the conflicts, hiding behind the backs of other organizations.
