YEREVAN. – All the publications by WikiLeaks are of great value, coordinator of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan said at a press conference on Monday.

According to him, American diplomats wrote those cables to present trustworthy and objective information to their government regarding the situation in Armenia.

As for the publication of the ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Zurabyan stated that the content of the cable and the characteristics of the first president show that Ambassador of U.S. to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch started to respect Ter-Petrosyan. He said that there were serious disagreements between ANC and U.S. particularly regarding the process of regulations of Armenian-Turkish relations. However, the ANC has some reservations on several issues. In particular, it referred to the establishment of the commission of historians, which put into question the issue of Armenian Genocide. Besides there were fears that the process of the opening the borders with Turkey will be linked to the process of Karabakh conflict resolution. Moreover, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was not ready for the regulation of relations and took the step for the sake of having the support of the U.S. then use it for the extermination of the opposition, Zurabyan stated.

Regarding the cable that Ter-Petrosyan has a personal benefit from drug trafficking, is a complete nonsense. Some independent experts turned to Ter-Petrosyan for the explanation and one of them even conducted his own journalistic investigation. He found out that the media is to blame for the misunderstanding. One of the WikiLeaks cables state that U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch has called Ter-Petrosyan a ‘sly fox.’
