“Turkey’s delaying the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols will cause adequate steps on Armenia’s part,” Speaker of the RA Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan stated at his meeting with Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus.
The Public Relations Department, RA Parliament told NEWS.am that the sides focused on the Armenia-Turkey normalization process.
Speaker Abrahamyan reaffirmed the Armenian side’s position and pointed out that the Armenian side is ready to adequate steps if Turkey delays the ratification of the protocols. He stressed that by signing the protocols Armenia did not assume any unilateral commitments. Rather, Armenia made that step to create necessary conditions for natural relations between the two states. Speaker Abrahamyan told the EU Special Representative that the Armenian side will take necessary steps in Turkey fail to ratify the protocols within a reasonable timeframe.
