ALMATY. – The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) released its first report on murder statistics.   

In line with UNODC data, 468 thousand murders were committed throughout the world in 2010 and most took place in the United States and Africa.According to the report, most murders among Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are committed in Russia, where 15,954 people were killed, or 11.2 murders per 100 thousand, in 2010. This ratio is 2.8 in Armenia, and 2.1 in Azerbaijan, kt.kz news agency reported.
