“Russia is very positive about the visits of Armenian and Azerbaijani political and public representatives to Stepanakert, Yerevan and Baku,” Russia MFA states.

“Russia positively evaluates the results of these meetings. We will keep on assisting the promotion of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement process and supporting the steps taken by national diplomacy,” the Russian MFA statement emphasizes.

On July 3, 2009 Armen Smbatyan and Bul-Bul Oglu, Armenian and Azerbaijani Ambassadors to RF, RF President Special Envoy for international cultural relations Mikhail Shvidkoy and representatives from Armenia and Azerbaijan as well visited Stepanakert, Yerevan and Baku. They were met by the presidents of both countries. Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement was the major topic of discussion during the visits.
