The Iranian capital days are numbered, The Guardian reports. The new plan of the capital proposed by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was approved.

The thing is that Tehran is located in the seismically dangerous area and the huge earthquakes are forecasted in the near future.

In his interview to Guardian, seismologist Professor Bahram Akasheh stated “the city had been chosen as a capital by mistake and its north-eastern suburbs were vulnerable to an earthquake measuring eight on the Richter scale.”

According to him, a new capital will be built between Qom and Delijan.
