A total of 474 people were detained due to riots in the Turkish province of Kayseri, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, informed on X—formerly Twitter.

"It turned out that 285 detained persons have convictions for various crimes," Yerlikaya added, in particular.

Riots broke out in Kayseri Province on Sunday after the police detained a Syrian man in connection with the abuse of a Syrian child who is his relative. The child was handed over to guardianship authorities, and the man was arrested. The Turkish presidential administration announced the attempt of provocations amid these riots—and with the aim of disrupting the peace and order in Turkey.
