In its  cabinet session Thursday, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign a working agreement with the European (EU) on the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Armenia’s competent authorities in legal cooperation in criminal proceedings and the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust).

Minister of Justice of Armenia Grigor Minasyan, presenting this document, stated as follows, in particular: "The purpose of this agreement between Armenia and the EU is to develop international cooperation between Eurojust and the competent authorities of Armenia in the fight against organized crime, terrorism, money laundering, trafficking and other serious crimes."

Minasyan added that the National Assembly of Armenia has already approved this agreement as an international treaty-law and it is now awaiting the signature of the President of Armenia.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, for his part, made it clear that after signing the aforesaid agreement, from now on Armenia can receive information not only from cross-border but also internal proceedings, as necessary, from the legal—and not only legal—networks of the EU.
