As part of his working visit to the US, Armenian finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan met with American economist Joseph Stiglitz, a Nobel Prize laureate in Economic Sciences.

The parties exchanged views on tax policy, reforms in the tax sector, the introduction of a common declaration system, as well as the development of the education system in Armenia, the Ministry of Finance informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, Hovhannisyan spoke about the influx of IT specialists to Armenia in recent years and the IT-related tax policies implemented by other countries in the region. The minister, reflecting to the trends of countries in Armenia's region to create more favorable conditions for the work of IT specialists, noted that serious discussions are currently underway in Armenia to implement in-depth reforms in this sector.

And at the end of the meeting, minister Hovhannisyan officially invited Professor Stiglitz to Armenia, and expressed his readiness to continue the same discussions and exchange of views in Armenia as well.
