Oman, where US-Iran nuclear talks were to take place this weekend, has slammed Israel for its military strikes on Iran.

"Oman holds Israel responsible for this escalation and its repercussions, and calls on the international community to take a clear and firm position to stop this dangerous approach, which threatens to exclude diplomatic solutions and undermine the security and stability of the region," the Omani government said in a statement.

Omani foreign minister Badr Albusaidi had announced Thursday that the sixth round of US-Iran talks on Tehran's nuclear program were to take place on Sunday in the Omani capital Muscat.

As reported earlier, Israel struck Iran at dawn Friday.

Iranian media had reported the deaths of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Hossein Salami, IRGC Khatam al-Anbia headquarters’ commander Gholamali Rashid, and three nuclear physicists in these Israeli attacks.

In addition, according to a statement from the Iranian armed forces, these Israeli strikes had targeted not only nuclear, but also civilian facilities. Civilians, including women and children, were also killed.
