Due to the recent situation on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, the NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers it essential to release the following statement.

The NKR position on the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement is solid. It is impossible to reach the conflict settlement, ignoring the existing reality. Any attempts to return the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to the past are not only counterproductive, but also fraught with the conflict escalation. Real progress in the negotiation process can be achieved only in the case of Karabakh side equal participation in all stages of the negotiations. Any agreement infringing the interests, fate, and future of the Nagorno- Karabakh Republic cannot be reached not involving the people and the authorities to be responsible for the country.

We hope that all the actors interested in the peaceful settlement will prevent any violation of the status-quo in the region, as the latter is caused by the intensification of the negotiation process on the basis of the current settlement wording.

Based on above mentioned, we consider the re-launch of distorted negotiation process, the return of the NKR to the negotiation process as an equal party and the transformation of the settlement basic principles is indispensable.
