November 25, 2009 Turkish Santa Victoria and Georgian Berill cargo ships collided in Sea of Azov.
According to Interfax, Georgian ship heading from Rostov-on-Don to Turkey sank after crashing with Berill going Yeysk to Samsun, however 12 crew members were rescued.
According to Santa Victoria’s captain, no victims were reported. Oil slick into the sea was not registered.
Accident causes are being clarified. The collision occurred in low visibility, SeaNews reports.
