In a letter addressed to US President Barrack Obama, Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Chairman Ken Khachikian expressed deep disappointment with the ungrounded pressure exerted on Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

According to the document, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ rigorous approach under which the mediators compel Armenia to make concessions in Karabakh issue, imperils security of Armenia and NKR, increases the possibility of Azerbaijan hostility resumption and undermines attempts of the parties to reach a truly lasting and durable peace.

Kachikian emphasized the necessity of Karabakh participation in the peace process. “As a direct party to this conflict and the primary victim of Azerbaijani aggression, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic must be a full and equal participant in all aspects of the peace process,” he noted.

Similar concerns were expressed also in letters sent to French and Russian Ambassadors to the U.S. Pierre Vimont and Sergey Kislyak.
