YEREVAN. – In the case of assuming power, Armenia’s opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party will allocate an apartment and money to businessman and the ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Samvel Aleksanyan, if he proves that he needs them. ARF MP Arstvik Minasyan stated this during Friday’s briefing at the National Assembly (NA), commenting on Aleksanyan’s request to transfer money to his bank account as funding for his campaign in the upcoming NA elections.

“The ARF transfers money for its own candidates. Furthermore, I believe it is not good that the parliament will again be filled with our distinguished ‘poor businessmen,’” Minasyan noted.

And the RPA—which nominated Samvel Aleksanyan’s candidacy in the elections—has no money to help its “needy” nominee.

RPA NA Faction leader Galust Sahakyan proposed the journalists to direct this question on helping Aleksanyan to the residents of capital Yerevan’s Malatia district—where Aleksanyan is running for a parliamentary seat from—and, also, to personally help him.
