YEREVAN. – ‘“I do not consider it terrible that businessmen are going to the [Armenian] National Assembly [NA], especially if they are either economists or lawyers. In many countries the economists and lawyers are the majority [in parliament]. If not businessmen, then who should go the NA?’ stated MP candidate [and businessman] Garegin Nushikyan,” Hraparak daily writes.

“‘Why should they [that is, the businessmen] not go? What is the matter? It is the media which are raising [the issue] that the businessmen should not go to the NA. This is not a bad thing,’ Nushikyan added.

Let them go [to the parliament]. But the question is how many of the ‘businessmen’ in the previous NA were [actually] economists or lawyers?”, Hraparak writes.
