YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport Police Department was informed by a man, on Friday at 2:40am, that on the same day—and while seeing off his daughter-in-law to the Yerevan-Odessa flight—a passenger registration officer had demanded and received AMD 15,000 (approx. US$ 36) to register their extra 17-kilogram luggage weight.     

It was found out that the employee was the Airport’s Registration Department supervisor Armenak S., 29, who was detained.   

A criminal case is launched, and an investigation is underway.
