YEREVAN.- The alert on suicide attempt received by Armenian police on Thursday morning was greatly exaggerated.

Earlier Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement that a young woman attempted to commit a suicide hanging out of the fourth-floor balcony.  

However, the woman was surprised to see her rescuers. Later it was disclosed that 27-year-old Irina T., citizen of Germany, was simply sitting at the balcony.

Irina said she was not attempting suicide but just sitting with her legs hanging out of the balcony. Meanwhile, her neighbors decided to call the police being concerned over her “strange” behavior.
