YEREVAN. – On behalf of Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, and in connection with the 111th birth anniversary of great Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan laid a wreath to Khachaturian’s tomb at Komitas Pantheon.

Several other Yerevan Municipality Staff officials, participants and panel of judges in the Aram Khachaturian International Competition, and the students of Yerevan’s music schools also visited the Pantheon together with the deputy mayor.

Speaking on Aram Khachaturian’s merit, Sukiasyan attached a particular importance to the great composer’s role in the development of the global art of music, and stressed that the rich legacy, which Khachaturian has left in this art, has and will always be appreciated in the civilized world.
