GYUMRI. – Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Tuesday met with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Arkadiy Bakhin.

Russian official informed the Minister about work of the special commission on investigating the murder committed in Gyumri. In particular, Bakhin informed about detention of Valery Permyakov, as well as about official investigation and expressed readiness to continue working with the Armenian law enforcement agencies.

During a meeting that took place in Gyumri, Armenian Defense Minister called to continue coordinated actions between the ministries to help law enforcers in conducting a thorough investigation.

Six members of a family were shot dead and a six-month-old baby was wounded in Gyumri on Monday. The city’s Russian military base serviceman Valery Permyakov is the main suspect in this crime. A criminal case is opened on this tragic incident. Permyakov was apprehended near the Armenian-Turkish border, in the vicinity of Armenia’s Bayandur village.
