On Saturday evening, unidentified persons threw stones in the direction of the building of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, in Istanbul, Turkey.

Subsequently, the police arrived at the scene, but it is still unknown who threw these stones and for what purpose, reported Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul.

General Vicar of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, Archbishop Aram Ateşyan, noted, however, that it is not known whether this attack was carried out against the Patriarchate itself, or its police sentry booth.
