Armenian filmmaker Artavazd Peleshyan was presented with a prize for his contribution to the world cinematography at the ceremonial opening of the Ji.hlava international documentary film festival in the Czech Republic, the Prague Post reported.

“In his work, Peleshyan succeeds in conveying the essence of life in a few minutes, and in a way that has forever entered the history of cinematography,” said Festival Director Marek Hovorka.

The Ji.hlava festival, which is held from Tuesday to Sunday, offers over 250 films, including 58 world, nine international, and eleven European premieres.
