Due to the efforts of Hagop D. Topalian Foundation, Armenia once again took part in the International Book and Press Fair held in Geneva from April 27 through May 1.

Numerous books in Armenian and foreign languages were exhibited in the Armenian pavilion. During the five days of the exhibition, lectures were also held on the history of the Armenian nation, culture, art and tourism, as well as the Armenian Genocide and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. These lecture-debates were attended by historians, journalists and publicists.

On the last day of the festival, the presentation of the book entitled “Armenia: spirit of one nation” by the former French ambassador to Armenia, Anri Kyuni, was held with the author’s participation.

The ensemble “Nor Ashugh” performed Armenian folk songs in the Armenian pavilion during the days of exhibition.

International Book and Press Fair in Geneva, launched in 1986, is the second by significance in the francophone world and the largest one in Switzerland. It is annually attended by 100,000 people, representatives of about 820 publishers and over 800 authors. In 2011, Armenia became the honorary guest of the fair.
