Maia Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, informed that charter flights between Russia and Turkey will not be reinstated in the current year, according to Izvestia newspaper of Russia.

She said that, during the talk between a delegation from Turkey and the management of relevant Russian departments, the Russian side raised the matter of safety of tourists.

As a result, the parties decided that Turkey will provide a list of dangerous places for tourists.

In Lomidze’s words, the recent military coup attempt in Turkey had a strong negative impact on Russian citizens’ wish to spend their vacation in that country. Moreover, there is a reduced demand for traveling to Turkey.

A group of military servicemen attempted a coup in Turkey, from late night on July 15 to early morning on July 16, but it failed.

More than 260 people died during the ensuing clashes.
