The Prosecutor's Office of Mexico announced about a new initiative to fight against the criminal groups that organize illegal movements of migrants. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime supported the initiative called "Illegal transportation of migrants. Mexico." The UN called to strengthen the fight against illegal migration through three main routes.

Mexico's law enforcement officers will be trained based on new methods within the three-year project, which has also been supported by the US government. The project will be implemented in 21 Mexican states and in a number of cities of the US, including Atlanta, Los Angeles and Washington.
