YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday received Director of the Special Investigation Service of Lithuania, Saulius Urbanavičius.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenian-Lithuanian interstate relations, attaching importance to the development of cooperation and exchange of experience in different areas. In this context, the Armenian President and the Director of the Lithuanian Special Investigation Service underscored the need for interagency cooperation and active discourse.

Referring to the importance of the forming cooperation between the Special Investigation Services of Lithuania and Armenia and exchange of experience between them, the sides expressed conviction that that the cooperation will significantly contribute to increasing the efficiency of solving the issues set before the two agencies, as well as strengthening of mutual legal assistance and rule of law in the fight against corruption, favoritism and other crimes.

Saulius Urbanavičius, for his part, expressed satisfaction with the meetings and discussions with Armenian partners during his visit, stressing that the development of cooperation with Armenia in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership is among the priorities of Lithuania.
