The German ambassador in Ankara Martin Erdmann was called to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, as the diplomatic sources in Ankara informed RIA Novosti, because of the incident that had happened with the Turkish Parliament’s Vice Speaker Ayse Nur Bahcekapili at the airport in Cologne.

Bahcekapili was placed under 45 minutes’ arrest in the airport of Cologne, when she was returning to Turkey. The reason of the arrest was her temporary passport, which she received at the Turkish Consulate, after her diplomatic passport had been stolen in Cologne. The Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan criticized the German authorities and threatened to take responsive actions. The Turkish Parliament condemned the statement by the German authorities in connection with the incident.
