Armenian National Security Service issued a statement in connection to Turkish citizens’ - “Strong Turkey” party chairman Tuna Beklevich and his deputy, Baybars Orsek who crossed the Armenian border.

“On October 11 Chairman of the “Strong Turkey” Tuna Beklevich and his deputy, Baybars Orsek disseminated information in various media outlets, that they had illegally crossed the Armenian state border in order to draw to the attention of the authorities to the problem of opening the Armenian-Turkish border.

Due to joint actions of Armenian National Security Service and the Russian Border Service, the foreigners calms on illegally crossing the Armenian-Turkish border, were proved to be false.

On October 28 Tuna Beklevich and Baybars Orsek legally arrived in Armenia at a checkpoint in Bagratashen (Armenian-Georgian border). The next day, at a press conference Beklevich confirmed that on Oct. 11 they crossed the Armenian-Turkish border on foot”-the statement reads.

 
Beklevich and Orsek were invited to the administrative building of the National Security Service of Armenia to give explanations to the mentioned statements. They failed to provide any evidence of the Armenian-Turkish border crossing.

Beklevich and Orsek were warned that such a course of conduct is unacceptable and their statements are irresponsible. They were asked to leave the territory of Armenia.
