YEREVAN. - The actions planned within the framework of the North-South program are underway.

Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, Vahan Martirosyan, reported the aforementioned on Tuesday at the Government session on the results of the year 2016 and priorities for the current year.

The Minister also noted that during the reporting year, actions aimed at the improvement of the transportation network were carried out, the press-service of the Armenian Government informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to him, in the sphere of railway communication, electric train T-3 restored by the Armenian side has been put into operation. Besides, the pilot program of multi-modal transportation of goods from Europe to Iran has been launched in the territory of Armenia. A new national schedule for frequency allocation has been developed in the sphere of communication and information technologies. Moreover, work aimed at drawing up legislative reforms for stimulating the development of the IT sphere has been launched.

Referring to the priorities for the year 2017, Vahan Martirosyan noted that the work aimed at creating a common transportation network in the republic, which was launched in 2016, continues in the current year.
