The changes made in the customs regulation law, and which refer to the import of goods to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and which are at interest rates that are lower than the working customs tariffs, will contribute to a more fair competition in the EAEU single market.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated the above-said, according to RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

“I recently met with the head of the [Russian] Federal Customs Service, and spoke about how to make the customs procedures become more modern and efficient,” said Medvedev. “This can be done if the goods are brought into the territory of the EAEU lower than the interest rate of the working customs tariffs.”

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
