Lego will release a set of five female NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts based on real women who have worked for the space agency, The Guardian reported.

As it was noted, the idea of creation of such figurines belonged to an American science writer Maia Weinstock. She submitted the set to the Lego Ideas review after it gained 10,000 votes of support from the public.

According to the newspaper, prototypes for minifigures are  Nasa scientist Katherine Johnson, computer scientist Margaret Hamilton, astronomer Nancy Grace Roman, astronaut and physician Mae Jemison.

Fans rejoiced at the news on social media.
