YEREVAN. – We all need to change, but not change for the worse, said President Serzh Sargsyan, at Friday’s annual general meeting of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia.

He noted this when asked by the NAS Presidium as to how sees the role of scientists and scholars in the forthcoming parliamentary election in the country.

Sargsyan, however, urged not to speak about the election, but about the future of Armenia.

“I expect people who can say a new idea, bring benefit, to be a little more active,” he said. “You also need to change, just as we try to change; these changes are indispensable in all places. But change does not resolve the matter by itself; change shall bring positive results.”

Also, Serzh Sargsyan proposed to the scientists and scholars to assemble some time after the election, and speak about what can be done to develop science in the country.

The parliamentary election in Armenia will be conducted on April 2.
