YEREVAN. - It will be harder for unconscientious developers to deceive citizens if they have a low rating known to everyone.

Prime Minister of Armenia Karan Karapetyan said the aforementioned at the meeting with voters in Yerevan’s Shengavit district Thursday.

At the meeting, an elderly man turned to him, saying that his and his neighbors’ houses were demolished for the purpose of turning the area into a construction site but they have not yet been compensated.

Karapetyan noted that the Government is going to stimulate ratings for very different enterprises, including hospitals and universities, he said.

“When sending a kid to a university, a person will know whether it is considered to be a good or bad one and what he can expect for his money. The same is with the developers: the reliable ones will be in demand, whereas the unreliable ones won’t.  Hand the letter, please. We will consider it by all means,” he added.

The old houses on Byuzand and Lalayants streets of Yerevan were demolished in 2004.  The residents were to be compensated not later than within a three-year period. Glendale Hills developer company concluded an agreement with the residents but so far very few of them have received compensation, while the rest have to hire apartments.
