At least 36 people were killed in blasts that rocked two Coptic churches on Palm Sunday in Egypt, BBC reported.

Twenty-five people were killed in an explosion at St. Gregory church of Tanta.  

The patriarch of the Egyptian Coptic Church, Pope Tawadros II was at the church during the blast, but he was not injured, the official reports said.

The second explosive device went off in St. Mark church in Alexandria killing 11 people.
