A boat carrying 150 tourists sank in a reservoir in north-west Colombia, near the city of Medellín, Telegraph reported.
The incident occurred at about 2pm on Sunday. A major rescue operation was underway.
The air force sent a helicopter to the Guatape reservoir, while the local mayor said firefighters and scuba divers were heading to the town.
El Mundo newspaper informed that at least nine people had died and about 28 were missing.
