YEREVAN. - In 2016, families residing in Armenia received even less transfers from abroad as compared to previous years, says the description of the macroeconomic situation in Armenia for 2016, attached to the report on State Budget performance.

The discussion of the report kicked off in the standing committees of the Armenian parliament on Monday.

In 2016, the transfers reduced to 8.6 percent, maintaining the trend of the preceding two years. Ratio of transfers to GDP amounted to 9.4 percent, coming closer to the low index of year 2000.

In 2016, the net inflows of private transfers amounted to $556.5 million (transfers by natural persons with deductions for transfers on the border). Nevertheless, this index is much lower than before 2014 (as a comparison, in 2012, the transfers received from Russia alone totaled $1 billion 393 million).
