37-year-old filmmaker Maria Sahakyan's last wish was to be buried at Armenia's Sanahin Monasteryin Sanahin. Maria Sahakyan's uncle Michael Zolyan said during her funeral ceremony that Maria liked these places very much and seemed to have a spiritual connection with these places, Armenian News - NEWS.am reported.

"We learned that Maria was ill a year ago. She went to the United States for treatment, but as the situation was very bad, she came back to Moscow because she did not want the children to see her tortures. She has 5 children, 4 girls and one boy, the youngest is 2 years old and the eldest is 18 years old. And his last will was to be buried in Sanahin because he had a spiritual connection with these places," said Michael Zolyan.

Actor Michael Poghosyan described Maria Sahakyan as a very positive, bright woman, artist.
