YEREVAN. – Along the lines of the criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, seven people have been charged with illegal drug trafficking.

Large amounts of narcotics were discovered and confiscated.

According to preliminary investigation, data were obtained that these illegal drugs were smuggled into Armenia from Iran.

Several Iranian citizens had smuggled these narcotics into Armenia and taken them to a rented apartment in the country.

These drugs were then sold to Armenian citizens who, in turn, sold them to others.

Criminal charges have been brought against three Iranian citizens and four Armenian nationals.

Two of these Iranian citizens and three of these Armenian nationals have been detained.

The criminal case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office to determine its investigative jurisdiction.
