The death toll in landslide and floods caused by torrential rains in Japan has reached 204, head of the local government said.

Overall, 73 thousand policemen, firefighters, self-defense representatives and 5,500 volunteers are working at the scene.

Over 5,000 people are in the evacuation centers, while over 200 thousand communities are deprived of water.
