YEREVAN. – The Armenian army was forced to target three Azerbaijani soldiers over the last three days, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan said during the campaign rally of “My Step” bloc in one of Yerevan districts.

He said the Armenian armed forced did it because Ilham Aliyev ordered Azerbaijani troops to shell the Armenian villages of Koti, Baghanis and Chinari.

“The only option to make situation calm was to silence them, to target their firing positions. Any time when Aliyev is attacking Armenia he is making hundreds of mothers unhappy, because he knows that nothing threatens his own child,” he said.

“It was an important thing that Ilham Aliyev had sent his son to the army. No matter how closed the country is and how social networks are under control in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani people are asking their leader: how did it happen that Armenian leader’s son has joined the army, but your son has not? Azerbaijani people realize that when Aliyev is escalating situation on the border and line of contact, he does not have any problem, because he knows that the sons of other Azerbaijanis would be killed,” Pashinyan said.

The Armenian PM added, however, that Aliyev took his son to one of the military bases in Baku, while his son is serving in Artsakh.

“Azerbaijani people should demand that his son serve in the frontline,” he emphasized.
